Practice Pal includes audio samples and components from open-source projects. All included assets comply with their respective licenses.

FreePats Audio Library

The Jam Studio feature uses high-quality instrument samples from FreePats, a community-driven library of free audio samples. All samples are provided under Creative Commons licenses, allowing free use, modification, and distribution.

CC0 1.0 (Public Domain): The creator has waived all rights. You may freely use, modify, and distribute without attribution.

CC-BY-4.0 (Attribution Required): You may use, modify, and distribute with proper attribution to the original author.

Legal Compliance

All included FreePats assets comply with Quebec's intellectual property laws and Canadian copyright law. Practice Pal does not modify or redistribute these assets beyond the scope permitted by their licenses. Users may freely use Practice Pal and its bundled samples for personal, non-commercial music practice.

Open Source Components

Practice Pal uses several open-source libraries including Flutter, Dart, Firebase, Just Audio, and Google ML Kit. See the app's "Open Source Licenses" section for complete license text and attributions to all third-party components.

Your Rights to Use Bundled Samples

By using Practice Pal's Jam Studio feature, you may:

  • Use the samples for personal music practice
  • Use the samples in compositions you create (both commercial and non-commercial)
  • Modify the sounds through the app's playback controls
  • Share your practice recordings featuring the samples

You may NOT:

  • Extract the raw sample files for use outside Practice Pal
  • Claim ownership or create derivative sample libraries
  • Resell or distribute the samples independently
